What is CPC (cost per click)?
CPC is the average cost of one click on an ad: ad spend divided by clicks.
Formula
CPC = ad spend ÷ clicks (equivalently, CPM ÷ (CTR × 1,000))CPC moves with both CPM and CTR. If CPM is flat but CTR halves, CPC doubles, so a rising CPC often points to the creative rather than the auction.
On Google Search, CPC also depends on keyword competition and Quality Score.
Example
₹18,000 of spend for 1,200 clicks is a CPC of ₹15.
